Tricks and tips to visit and experience the city of Sydney in the most economical way

  1. First basic rule: walking! Wear a pair of comfortable shoes and get ready to walk for miles. Of course, it depends on how much time you have available and this rule really applies to most cities. For a big city like Sydney, you should have at least one week available. The city does not have a metropolitan network but a surface line passing by the bridges and skyscrapers reminds many American cities. It is very efficient, you just need to buy an “Opal” transport card at any one eleven, and recharge it (a minimum charge of $ 10). You will have to put the card at the entrance and exit of the turnstiles if you take the train or climb and drop if you use a coach.

  1. Perhaps not everyone knows there is a free bus that runs through George Street. 555 available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3.30pm while Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 6 pm.

  2. Instead of taking those terrible buses to visit the city, take advantage of Walking Free Tours, a great way to visit the city in the company of people from all over the world with guides from kids born in Sydney. There are two types:

              – Sydney Sights, daily departing at 10.30am and 2.30pm (2 1/2 – 3 hours)

              – The Rocks, everyday departure at 6 pm (1 1/2 tour)

  1. If you want to visit Manly the ferry on Sunday costs $ 2.50 instead of $ 15.
