Trip in Australia: Western Australia

img_9635I must admit that the main reason I decided to go to this part of Australia

Are the Quokka, the small and tender marsupials that are found only on the island of Rottnest, which can be reached from Perth or nearby Fremantle.

I think that in Western Australia, especially in the northwest part of Broom and Kimberley, there are some really wonderful places but in this my first trip to Australia (which I hope is not the last one) I decided to focus on Those things that I absolutely had to see by considering several factors for which I had to make several renunciations. In the beginning I was a little disoriented to find myself in a big city again since I left Sydney and I was traveling in the middle of nowhere and I was in the middle of nowhere, outback, never end, and now I was catapulted into reality Another big city, with its great skyscrapers, traffic, and so on.

The visit to the city of Perth and Rottnest Island has not disappointed me. As far as the most isolated city in the world, I have found it really nice, nice parks where you can also see kangaroos, beautiful CBD, beautiful waterfront where you can jog (the Australian favorite sport after surfing), nice Sunsets and pleasant climate. It also seemed to me that the city was much more related to culture than the others, not just for museums but for modern artworks located in some pedestrian areas but also for advertising billboards of musical/artistic events.

There are many construction sites in the city such as Elizabeth Quay, and I would not be surprised to know that within a few months the works can be finished, the Australians in this are very efficient. But back to the Quokka, since I left for Australia I had read several articles about backpackers who make self-timers with these cute pets, and despite preferring not to follow trends or fashion, I could not go to Australia without seeing them!

Sadly, like many tours and tours here in Australia going to Rottnest Island in the day will be quite expensive, but you may believe me when I tell you that it will be worth not only for the encounter with the marsupials as for the beauty of the island itself characterized by Bays and spectacular inlets, fine and white sandy beaches, crystalline water but also cobalt blue and rich vegetation. The interior of the island will surprise you as you will see several ponds full of colorful mosses, wind blades, but they do not seem to impact much on the surrounding landscape. But in the whole island if you want it you will benefit from the most important thing: quiet, silence and tranquility.

Ferries departing from the island will leave you to Fremantle, so you can take advantage of visiting this pretty port town and its historic center from the colonial past, and maybe enjoy a sunset in the old harbor.
